Since 2 August 2026 AI images must be labelled. This module does it for you

Article 50 of the EU AI Act applies from 2 August 2026: photorealistic images generated or manipulated by artificial intelligence must carry a disclosure visible to the customer. Marketplaces go further — Allegro already requires AI-image marking from every seller. Missing disclosures risk fines and delisted offers.

The AI Content Marking module closes that obligation in a single tool: you mark images (one by one, per whole product or in bulk by category), and your store shows a clear label on listings and on the gallery, embeds machine-readable IPTC/XMP metadata into the JPEG files themselves and publishes a schema.org JSON-LD marker for search engines. A scanner sweeps your existing catalog, and a compliance registry documents who decided what and when.

Możliwości modułu

A label the customer actually sees

A flag on the product tile in listings (right next to the native New and Sale flags), an overlay badge on the gallery photo itself, and a full disclosure sentence under the buy button. Three layers, each switched on separately.

Machine-readable marking inside the file

The module embeds the IPTC DigitalSourceType marker (XMP) into the JPEG source and every thumbnail. The disclosure then travels with the photo beyond your store — to marketplaces, price comparison sites and social media.

Catalog scanner that shows its reasoning

It searches image files for AI traces: the XMP marker, C2PA content credentials and generator signatures (Midjourney, DALL-E, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion and more). Every hit tells you on what basis it was flagged.

Nothing goes live without you

Scanner hits wait in a review queue as pending and never reach the storefront until you confirm them. Confirm or dismiss with one click straight from the list, without a page reload.

Styled to match your shop

Colour presets, your own background and text colours, or a "theme styles" mode in which the module imposes nothing and the label looks exactly like your theme's native flags. Badge position and texts are configurable per language.

Compliance registry with CSV export

The full history: what was marked, by whom, when and on what basis. CSV export plus live statistics — ready-made proof of due diligence if anyone ever asks.

Często zadawane pytania

Do I have to mark every AI-generated image?
Article 50 of the AI Act covers photorealistic images that could pass as real. Purely illustrative graphics generally do not need marking. The decision is always yours — the module never marks anything without your confirmation.
Does the scanner mark images in the store by itself?
No. Hits go to the review queue as pending and stay invisible to customers until you confirm them.
Why is there no generator name on a hit?
Only a generator signature in the metadata reveals the tool name. Hits based on the XMP marker or on C2PA credentials only tell you the file declares AI origin — not which tool produced it. The Detected by column always shows which method fired.
What happens when I remove a mark?
The label disappears from the storefront, the row disappears from the registry, and the XMP marker is stripped from the image file and all of its thumbnails. The photo stops declaring AI origin outside your store as well.
Does the module require theme template changes?
No. The listing label uses PrestaShop's native product flag mechanism, and the gallery badge is added by a script — no theme files are modified.
Does the module work on my PrestaShop version?
Yes — the module supports PrestaShop from 1.7.5 to 9.x and runs on PHP 7.1 and newer. Multistore is supported. The premium code is protected (ionCube) and will never crash your shop, even on a server without the loader.
