From 19 June 2026 the "Withdraw from contract" button is mandatory — not optional

EU Directive 2023/2673 requires every B2C shop to give consumers a visible "Withdraw from contract" button and an online form — no printable PDFs, no support e-mails, no hiding in the terms and conditions. Non-compliance risks a fine of up to 10% of annual turnover, and the customer's withdrawal period extends to 12 months and 14 days if they were not properly informed of their rights.

The Withdraw from contract module turns this obligation into an advantage: withdrawing is as simple as ordering, confirmations are sent automatically, and the whole flow is simple, accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA) and fully compliant with Directive 2023/2673.

How does it work? The process in 4 steps

  1. The customer clicks "Withdraw from contract" — the button is available in the footer, customer account, order page and order confirmation. You can also place an individual link in the order confirmation e-mail.
  2. They pick products and quantities — the module tracks deadlines, already-returned quantities and legal exclusions. Guests verify with the order reference and e-mail.
  3. They receive confirmation on a durable medium — an e-mail plus a generated PDF with the official declaration. Optional two-step confirmation link (protection against mistakes and pranks).
  4. You handle the request in the back office — list, statuses, bulk actions, CSV export, audit log, all synced with PrestaShop's native order returns.

Perfect fit for:

  • Every B2C shop in the EU — the directive applies to everyone selling to consumers
  • Fashion and footwear — "wrong size" returns make a simple, compliant withdrawal process essential
  • Personalised and digital products — manual exclusions compliant with art. 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU
  • Mixed B2C + B2B sales — exclude business customer groups with one click

Technical details

  • PrestaShop 1.6.0 – 9.x, PHP 7.2 or newer
  • Full multistore support — separate settings per shop
  • Customer interface in 6 languages
  • Own database tables with the shop prefix — clean uninstall, no leftovers
  • Sensitive data (IBAN) encrypted with AES-256 tied to the installation
  • Token-protected cron URL for expiring unconfirmed requests

Często zadawane pytania

When does Directive 2023/2673 apply?
From 19 June 2026 every online shop selling to EU consumers must provide an electronic withdrawal path — a visible button and an online form. Installing the module earlier gives you time to test the process calmly.
Can a guest (no account) submit a withdrawal?
Yes — the directive requires it and the module supports it. The guest enters the order reference and the e-mail used at purchase; after verification they go through the same simple form as a logged-in customer. The guest form is rate-limited.
Does the module work with my PrestaShop version?
Yes — PrestaShop 1.6 to 9.x (PHP 7.2 or newer), multistore with per-shop settings, customer interface in 6 languages (PL, EN, DE, FR, IT, ES).
Does the module modify my theme or shop files?
No. The module works exclusively through standard PrestaShop hooks — no core overrides, no theme changes. Colours and texts are adjusted from the configuration ("Appearance & texts" tab), and uninstalling removes all module data without leftovers.
What about GDPR and data security?
All withdrawal data stays in your shop's database — the module sends nothing to external services. The bank account number (IBAN) is encrypted with AES-256 tied to your installation, and the full audit log (IP, user agent, timestamp) is ready-made evidence for a regulator inspection or GDPR audit.
Can I adapt the look and texts to my shop?
Yes. In the "Appearance & texts" tab you can change the button colour (colour picker), the button label, the form intro, the guest page text and an extra thank-you paragraph — all in PL and EN, no HTML/CSS needed. You also decide where the button appears: footer, customer account, order page, order confirmation — each location has its own switch. E-mail subjects are editable in the "Mails" tab.
How do I install the module?
Download the ZIP file, go to PrestaShop admin → Modules → Add new module → Choose file → Upload. Default settings are directive-compliant; full configuration (return address, statuses, exclusions) takes a few minutes.
Will I receive a VAT invoice?
Yes. We are a Polish company and issue a 23% VAT invoice for every order, sent to your e-mail immediately after payment.
